For the past two weeks I have been urging you to keep one pen in a fixed place and return it there again and again.
I promised that there was a method to my madness … so here it is.
Essentially having one pen and taking the 4 steps of :
1) finding it a good location
2) retrieving it
3) using it
4) returning it
is fundamental to running a streamlined home or office.
By using an item again and again but knowing where it’s ‘home is’ enables us to live with less and be even more functional with our items that those who have many items.
Think it through. Now, I urge you to look around your home and keep an eye out for clutter.
All clutter is is items that are not following the above system.
Look at the item and decide if it is worth your time investment, if it does, then repeat the 4 steps above. It’s not as fun as leaving items around the house, but it is a highly sought after habit.
